PITTSBURGH — A Heat Advisory goes into effect Wednesday for most of the Pittsburgh region.
The advisory starts at 8 a.m. for Lawrence, Beaver, Butler, Armstrong, Allegheny, Washington and Greene counties and the ridges of Westmoreland and Fayette. It remains in place until 8 p.m.
Hot temperatures and high humidity will push heat indices into the mid to upper 90s, increasing the chance for heat-related illnesses.
Scattered strong storms are also possible, with a round of showers and storms in the forecast through mid-morning Wednesday and another round of storms possible late day.
Hot, stormy weather continues Thursday, and any storm that develops could bring downpours and damaging winds.
