Olivia Bennett announces campaign for Allegheny County Executive

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — Olivia Bennett announced she will run for Allegheny County Executive on Monday.

A current councilmember, Bennett represents the 13th District in Allegheny County.

“Allegheny County still has work to do to ensure that everyone lives in safe communities, has access to affordable and safe housing, receives fair and equal pay, transportation is more accessible and that we are protecting our environment,” Bennett said in her announcement.

Current executive Rich Fitzgerald is in his third and final term.

“It’s time to build new tables and make a county that is truly for everyone,” said Bennett.

Bennett noted that if she is elected for county executive, she will be the first Black woman to hold the seat.
