Painkillers stolen from Westmoreland County ambulance service

WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. — State police said they are investigating after someone stole painkillers from a Westmoreland County volunteer ambulance service.

According to Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE, officials at Norvelt EMS reported morphine and fentanyl patches were stolen from a refill kit.

Investigators said the kit was stored at the agency's building on Main Street.

Police said the theft was likely an inside job because only someone with access to the building could have stolen the secured drugs.
