Penn Hills man wanted on multiple warrants arrested in Wilkinsburg

A 36-year-old Penn Hills man who recently pleaded guilty to indecent assault has been arrested on multiple outstanding warrants, Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced.

Idris Shakir was taken into custody at a residence in Wilkinsburg on Monday morning without incident, then transported to the Allegheny County Jail.

Kraus says Shakir pleaded guilty to indecent assault in August. Following his plea, he was sentenced to time served and ordered to register as a sex offender for 15 years.

Earlier this month, authorities issued two bench warrants for Shakir related to probation violations. He also faced an active warrant from Penn Hills for failing to register as a sex offender and an active warrant out of Ohio connected to a firearms violation.
