PITTSBURGH — PennDOT crews are out on the Parkway East, completing work near the site of a deadly crash outside the Squirrel Hill Tunnel.
PennDOT officials say the crews are performing “minor repairs” and extending a guiderail in the area of the Commercial Street Bridge outside of the Squirrel Hill Tunnel. The work may lead to restrictions, as workers will be on the should and in the right lane of traffic.
This work is being done almost a week after a local teacher died after his car went off the Parkway East and landed 80 feet below in a ravine.
