PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Musical Theater, the West End arts institution, has received $1.25 million in new funding as part of its $20 million capital campaign.
The new funding comes from a combination of the Hillman Foundation and the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.
The arts nonprofit is pursuing funding for a host of upgrades under the name, Elevating the PMT Experience for All, seeking a variety of improvements to improve accessibility, expand common areas and better integrate the facility in the surrounding West End neighborhood.
The Pittsburgh Musical Theater’s recent upgrades include installing an elevator in its 111-year-old building, among a range of others to make it fully accessible for the first time in the more than 25 years it’s operated there.
