Pittsburgh picks 113th City Hall Christmas Tree

PITTSBURGH — The City of Pittsburgh is already making plans for the winter holidays!

Saturday, officials announced that the Department of Public Works Forestry Division had picked the 113th City Hall Christmas Tree.

The 38-foot blue spruce comes from Brighton Heights and was donated by the property owner.

Come November, crews will bring the tree to the City-County Building, where it will be illuminated during the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership’s Light Up Night.

Officials say this is Downtown’s only live Christmas tree and a longstanding holiday tradition.

After the holidays, the tree will be turned into mulch for the city’s parks.
