PITTSBURGH — The name for Pittsburgh Zoo’s new lion cub has been revealed!
After receiving more than 1,000 name submissions, the cub’s name came down to one: Kiazi.
Kiazi translates to “potato” in Swahili.
The female African lion cub was born on April 5 to parents Scarlett and Hondo. She’s the first cub for both parents.
In addition to her name being announced, Kiazi also made her first public debut on Monday.
