PITTSBURGH — Part of the Pittsburgh Regional Transit rail system will be closed for the weekend as crews perform work.
Work is scheduled to begin at the end of service on Friday and continue through the start of service on Monday. As a result, the T will be closed between First Avenue and Steel Plaza.
Crews will work on the tracks and concrete leading to Penn Tunnel, which has been closed since July.
Shuttle buses will run during the closure to help travelers.
A rail shuttle will run between Steel Plaza and Allegheny Station.
All other T stations will operate as normal.
Another closure in the same location is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 23-26.
