Sheetz recognized among best retail workplaces in the country

Sheetz has ranked third nationally on the annual Best Workplaces in Retail list published by Fortune and Great Place to Work.

The Pennsylvania-based convenience store and restaurant chain placed behind only Wegmans and Target, marking its 11th consecutive year on the national retail workplace list.

The ranking is based on direct employee survey feedback analyzed by Great Place to Work. According to the survey, 90% of Sheetz employees identified the company as a great place to work, compared with 57% of employees at a typical U.S.-based company.

Over the past year, Great Place to Work surveyed companies representing a combined U.S. workforce of 7.3 million people and analyzed 1.3 million survey responses to determine the annual list rankings.

Travis Sheetz, president and CEO of Sheetz, addressed the company’s workplace recognition in a statement following the announcement.

“Being recognized among the nation’s leading companies for creating a positive workplace culture for more than a decade is an honor we don’t take lightly,” Sheetz said. “Our employees are at the heart of everything we do, representing our brand and making a difference in the communities we serve every day. We’re committed to creating an environment where our people feel valued, respected and empowered to build meaningful careers while living out our shared commitment to caring for others.”

The workplace ranking follows several other recognitions for the chain this year. Earlier this month, Sheetz ranked second nationally among convenience store chains in the American Customer Satisfaction Index.

In August, the company was named to the Companies that Care list by Great Place to Work and PEOPLE Magazine for the fifth consecutive year. In May, USA TODAY named Sheetz a Top 10 Best Gas Station for Food in its 2026 10Best Readers’ Choice Travel Awards. Fortune and Great Place to Work also included Sheetz on its 100 Best Companies to Work For list in April for the 11th straight year.
