Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed on Monday that the team has re-signed veteran linebacker Elandon Roberts to the practice squad.

Roberts, 32, has already had two stints with the Steelers. This year, he was signed by the Steelers late in training camp, and immediately made an impact with his hard-hitting, physical nature, both in training camp and in the preseason. He played in 73 snaps over the team’s second and third preseason games, recording 10 tackles.

“I enjoyed him in training camp,” McCarthy said. “I thought he did a nice job. I think timing was a little bit to do with his opportunity. Once again, we’re trying to get better. All these opportunities that we are creating for players. The changes that you make, we’re trying to improve the team. He’s a veteran. He’s done great things throughout his career, but this man just wants to win. Can’t have enough people like that.”
