Steelers get good news on Joey Porter Jr.

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. participated in the open portion of Wednesday’s practice. Tuesday’s practice was just a walkthrough, but today’s session is a normal practice.

Porter and the Steelers are in the midst of a contract standoff, so the fact that he’s back practicing is an encouraging sign.

The Steelers will have a padded practice on Thursday, so his status should be monitored throughout the week, when it comes to his potential participation in Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons.
