Wilkinsburg woman arrested after leading police on chase into Westmoreland County

NORTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Wilkinsburg woman is facing charges after police said she led officers on a chase into Westmoreland County Monday.

North Huntingdon Township police said Magdelena Ludwig led police on a chase on Route 993 in Pitcairn that entered Westmoreland County.

Ludwig, who was wanted on multiple warrants, was seen nearly hitting another car after failing to stop at a stop sign. She was also driving erratically and was going nearly 80 miles per hour in residential areas.

The pursuit continued into Adamsburg shortly before the driver turned onto a marked “do not enter” onramp to Route 30.

A Pitcairn police officer used his cruiser to pin the vehicle while North Huntingdon Police boxed in the suspect’s vehicle in an attempt to stop her from fleeing.

Ludwig had several bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl on her, police said. A search of her car revealed an additional248 stamp bags of suspected heroin, fentanyl, a bag of raw heroin, marijuana, mushrooms, crack cocaine, over 100 Xanex pills, more than $2,000 in cash and a plethora of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Ludwig was charged with multiple drug-related offenses, resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding from police, flight to avoid apprehension and several summary traffic offenses.
