Witness recalls alleged hit-and-run crash on Route 66, following the suspect vehicle

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Channel 11 spoke with a witness who said they saw a hit-and-run crash in Westmoreland County.

A woman is accused of fleeing a hit-and-run and then crashing into other vehicles.

Cameron Yockey said he saw the driver of a white Jaguar hit a truck in New Kensington.

He says he reported that initial crash to police and then followed the vehicle to try to get the license plate.

“I just happened to be at, if you want to call it the right place, or the wrong place at the right time,” Yockey said.

He says he watched the driver crash into more cars.

The vehicle ended up crashing again on Route 66 in Washington Township and burst into flames.

He and several others helped people trapped in their vehicles.

“People in this area are always looking out for each other; they don’t really put themselves first in most cases, willing to jump in and assist”

We’ve reached out to police about what happened and if there’s been an arrest.
