Woman dead after rollover crash in Churchill; victim identified

CHURCHILL, Pa. — A woman was killed in an early morning car crash in Churchill.

According to Allegheny County police, the crash happened in the 700 block of Beulah Road at around 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

Emergency crews found a single-car rollover crash at the scene, police said.

A woman who was a passenger in the car, who was later identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as Charmaine Lee Sewell, 62, from Wilkinsburg, was pronounced dead at the scene.

There’s no word on what caused the crash.

Viewer video from a doorbell camera shows the car as it started to lose control on the road. The car can be seen going just over the center line before getting back to the right lane just before the crash.

Homicide detectives and collision reconstruction detectives initiated an investigation.
