BANGKOK, THAILAND — Sticks and stones aren't the only threats to the King of Thailand ... names can hurt, too.
Yesterday, a man accused of mocking the Thai king's dog appeared in a Bangkok military court.

The man is accused of using social media to mock the king's pet and for "liking" a Facebook page with an inappropriate picture of the king.
Each incident is punishable by 3 to 15 years in prison.
Strict laws in Thailand outlaw defamation, criticism or insults aimed at the royal family.
The king adopted the dog in 1998 and they soon became close companions.
He even wrote a book about the animal that he wanted to be used as an example for the behavior he wanted his citizens to show.
