OAKDALE, Pa. — A popular restaurant in Oakdale will reopened Wednesday weeks after floods severely damaged the facility.
Pepperoncini’s Pub closed when more than four feet of water filled the restaurant on July 10.
Owner Kristin Burke said she and her friends have been repainting, rewiring and rebuilding her business since. She said when she initially surveyed the damage, she was unsure if her business would ever reopen.
“We have 40 employees that I didn't want to let down, a community that we love and loves us. So I thought I probably have a good 10 years left in me so I should probably just reopen and get it back going again,” Burke said.
Burke said most of her employees are returning to work and she’s even added a few new items to the menu.
