Port Authority Driver, Passenger Charged In Bus Fight

PITTSBURGH,None — A Pittsburgh-area transit driver has been charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct for allegedly fighting with a passenger who reportedly spit twice on the driver.

Thomas Jett, 43, of Verona, has returned to work following the Feb. 22 incident.

Port Authority of Allegheny County police have also charged the passenger, Samon Bradley, 30, with theft of services and disorderly conduct.

Police said the incident happened after the driver confronted Bradley about habitually not paying his fare. Police said Jett ran after Bradley and hit him repeatedly after he spit on Jett and got off the bus.

The men were to be notified of the charges by mail.
