UNION COUNTY, S.C. — A teacher at a South Carolina high school has resigned after a student distributed a nude photo of her through text messages and social media.
"I absolutely loved teaching mechatronics. Mechatronics is mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer programming," teacher Leigh Anne Arthur said.

Arthur said what hurts her the most is that one of her students in the career and technology center is responsible for sending out the photo.
She said she had taken some Valentines photos for her husband and left them on her phone.
"He took pictures of my phone and sent them from him, from his phone," Arthur said. "He knows right from wrong. He had the ultimate decision to take pictures of my pictures, and he had the ultimate decision to send them out."
According to Arthur, all of this was done while her phone was on her desk and she was patrolling the halls during class change. She said the school district is holding her responsible for the pictures getting out, saying she made her phone accessible.
Arthur knows who the student is and said she forgives him, even as she ponders her future.
"He's 16. He's going to make stupid decisions. We all made stupid decisions at 16."
