2-alarm fire at Pittsburgh building sends families running out into the cold

PITTSBURGH — Nearly a dozen people were evacuated from an apartment building in Pittsburgh’s West End Monday night after a fire broke out.

The fire grew to 2 alarms before crews could get it under control.

Officials said the fire burned part of a building in the 100 block of Wabash Street starting at around 10:15 p.m.

It’s not clear at this point what sparked the flames.
