Ammunition could be heard going off as firefighters pulled up to a house fire in Munhall, officials said.
The fire was reported about midnight Monday on West Street.
Munhall Fire Chief Ed Pletsch said he had safety concerns for crews because of the ammunition.

“It doesn't blow up or shoot bullets at you. It just explodes. So shrapnel injuries we were mainly worried about,” Pletsch said. “Once our guys were able to get in there and knock the fire down, it was pretty basic after that.”
The man who lives in the home got out safely with his pets, which include a large snake.
The house sustained a lot of water and smoke damage.
