Stolen guns, suspected drugs seized during raid at bar in Uptown Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — Stolen guns and suspected drugs were seized Wednesday during a raid at a bar in Pittsburgh’s Uptown neighborhood, Channel 11 News learned Friday.

Pittsburgh police, Pennsylvania Liquor Control Enforcement and the Allegheny County Health Department all raided Ace’s & Deuce’s Lounge on Fifth Avenue, which is steps away from Duquesne University and PPG Paints Arena.

Two stolen guns were found in the back area of the bar. Further searching uncovered suspected cocaine, marijuana and cash, a news release from Pennsylvania State Police said.

The health department closed the bar for “serious health violations,” the release said.

The shutdown was welcomed by Annette Fetchko, the executive director of nearby women’s shelter Bethlehem Haven.

Police said they have received complaints about alleged drug usage and dealing in the area.

Fetchko said there have been numerous safety concerns, including a recent shooting in the area. She said her staff and clients just don’t feel safe.

Channel 11′s Rick Earle reached out to the owner of the bar by phone on Wednesday. He said, “I’m busy right now,” and hung up the phone.
