Bizarre home invasion lands Latrobe man in jail

WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. — It was a wild situation for a homeowner as a stranger barged through his door and into his Hannastown home.

Police said Blake Quakenbush forced his way into the house where three family members and a toddler were sitting in the living room Tuesday shortly after eating dinner.

“He had no knowledge of who this individual was and obviously the homeowner was extremely scared. They had a 2-year-old child at the house which was even more dangerouns,” said Trooper Steve Limani.

The homeowner did not want to go on camera but told Channel 11 that Quakenbush was wearing nothing but a pair of shorts and socks. He said he was being chased and needed somewhere to hide.

“In his world, he might think someone’s chasing him but during the course of our investigation, we determined there wasn’t anyone actively chasing him,” Limani said.

The woman and 2-year-old child ran into another room to escape and told investigators they feared for their lives.

Troopers said Quakenbush was under the influence. The homeowner was able to chase him out of the house and down the street until troopers could arrest him.
