The defense team for Westmoreland County Sheriff Jonathan Held, who is accused of having members of his department campaign for him while on the clock, has rested without calling any witnesses or submitting any evidence.

The trial began Monday. Several members of the department have testified about tasks they had been asked to perform for Held's re-election campaign.
On Thursday morning, former deputy Jennifer Shipley took the stand and testified that, during her time in the department, she performed campaign duties both on and off county time, even doing work for Held's "I Outshot the Sheriff" fundraiser.

In the afternoon, Agent Lee Yingling of the state attorney general's office testified that evidence of campaign literature was found on county computers.
