Father desperate for answers 2 years after son’s murder at Pittsburgh-area bar

PITTSBURGH — Rick Lewis’ son Jason was murdered at a bar in Braddock after trying to break up a fight.

Two years later, and the pain has not lessened for Lewis.

“It totally ripped a hole in my heart. I’m never going to be the same. Every day is a battle,” Lewis said.

Lewis watched surveillance video from the night his son was shot and killed. The video showed his son shaking hands and giving hugs before the incident.

“He was doing what he always did, going around the room shaking hands, talking, laughing, joking. Everyone knew him. Everybody knew Jason,” Lewis said.

Lewis said some of the sadness has been replaced by anger, especially since no one has been arrested in the case yet. Allegheny County Police said the actual murder was not caught on camera. Several witnesses did see what happened, but they’re reportedly afraid to come forward.
