Grocery store workers eager to be added to COVID-19 vaccine eligibility in Pa.

WARRENDALE, Pa. — Grocery store workers have been on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic for over a year, and now they can finally get vaccinated.

“We are glad to see there’s light at the end of the tunnel,” said Leonard Labriola, manager of Labriola’s Italian Markets. “As long as it works, I’m happy, so I think the time, the wait, is well paid off. The people that needed it the most got it.”

Wednesday, Gov. Wolf announced that grocery store workers were among a group of people being immediately added to phase 1A in Pennsylvania.

Workers at Labriola’s Italian Markets told Channel 11 they haven’t run into any problems scheduling their vaccine appointment or finding an open slot.
