Former Il Pizzaiolo in Market Square closed permanently as property goes on the market downtown

PITTSBURGH — Another well-established restaurant downtown has decided to call it quits.

Il Pizzaiolo, one of the many restaurants Ron Molinaro introduced to downtown before he sold out his ownership stake in the Market Square restaurant, has opted not to renew an option on its lease, triggering the property to go on the market for lease and the restaurant’s liquor license, fixtures and equipment to go up for sale.

David Glickman has officially launched marketing the space in a corner of Market Square near the Starbucks for lease after the restaurant’s ownership declined to renew a lease that extends into next year, ending an approximately eight-year run for Il Pizzaiolo.
