The homeowner said no one in his family was hurt, but the car knocked down a pillar, and left the half of the roof hanging from the home.

Channel 11′s Gabriella DeLuca talked with the homeowner who was inside the home when the car crashed and to a neighbor who saw the whole thing happen.

“I was just playing a video game and I heard a boom, and it wasn’t coming from the game. I looked out the window, and saw my porch was now on the ground,” said Sean Henke.

He was sitting next to his window, inches away from the SUV. The driver didn’t stick around; he took off after the crash.

A man who lives across the street told Channel 11 it was a road rage issue that started with people who were moving out down the road.

“They had a car parked on the side. Someone got a little impatient and ran over some of the boxes they had out there -- then tried to get around the vehicle and ended up in the pillar,” DJ Grenna said.

Neighbors were able to take down the SUV’s license plate, and detectives identified the driver.

For Henke, he is grateful his family wasn’t home at the time and that no one was hurt. The family is now dealing with insurance companies to figure out how to get everything paid for.
