Local, national tattoo artists offer time and talent to help Tree of Life healing process

PITTSBURGH — Tattoo artists came from far and wide to offer their time and talents to help the healing process after the Tree of Life synagogue shooting.

“It’s been three years and it’s never going to go away,” said Eric Mallinger.

Mallinger lost his grandmother in the shooting. That’s why he was getting a tattoo in her honor.

“You talk to the recipients and they’re crying and thanking you for being a part of this project,” said president of the Healing Ink Project Craig Dershowitz.
