According to the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit, County 911 was notified of a reported shooting in the 300 bock of Fair Oaks Street.

First responders found the man with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. His family identified the victim as Brian Irby.

Channel 11 found several police officers and vehicles on the street along with at least a dozen evidence markers.

Family members said it was a drive-by shooting.

“I’m hurt and I just want to see his wife and the girls because I know that they got to be hurt. Them girls, he was their life,” said Michelle Estes, Irby’s cousin.

Irby’s family said he was a loving husband and devoted father to his children.

“He was a beautiful person. He didn’t do nothing to nobody. He would give anybody anything,” Estes said.

Family members told Channel 11 police have video of a truck possibly leaving the scene after the shooting. If you have any information, you’re asked to call police.
