Police are looking for 29-year-old David Goodwine for the death of 35-year-old Brian Irby.

According to the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit, County 911 was notified of a reported shooting in the 300 bock of Fair Oaks Street on Oct. 7, 2021.

First responders found the man with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. His family identified the victim as Irby.

“I’m hurt, and I just want to see his wife and the girls because I know that they got to be hurt. Them girls, he was their life,” said Michelle Estes, Irby’s cousin. “His wife, he loved her to death. He gave her anything she asked him for. Them kids, he loved them. There was nothing better on this earth than those children and for somebody to take his life like that, it’s wrong.”

According to court documents, a witness told detectives Irby was involved in a drug deal at his home and someone robbed him. A car seen on home surveillance video at Irby’s home was identified as Goodwine’s. Investigators said he tried to sell the vehicle on Facebook, but police were able to seize it.
