Man found dead in golf course lake went missing hours before girlfriend gave birth

Channel 11 is learning more about the driver of a car who was pulled from the Montour Heights Country Club's lake last week.

Divers found the body of Roy Sanders, 50, along with his wrecked vehicle, on Friday.

Investigators believe he had been involved in a crash down the road earlier that week before ending up in the lake.

The driver's girlfriend is in the hospital after giving birth to their third child.

"He actually died hours before my son was born," Tyne Golixer said. "I called everyone I knew to see if I could find him no one had seen him or anything."

Golixer told Channel 11 she's still in shock and can't believe while she was giving birth to her son Joseph on Tuesday, the baby's father was in a terrible car crash and nobody even knew it.

"It makes me really unhappy, but I know God had a plan," Golixer said.

Moon police told Channel 11 a hit-and-run was reported on Coraopolis Heights Road Tuesday. Police found car parts, but they never found the car.

Not until Friday, when a groundskeeper spotted a body in the lake that is about 500 yards from the road.

"That just doesn't make sense, he was an excellent driver, I mean it," Golixer said. "Too many unanswered questions for me. The nurses were all really upset for me and I was upset, but I just try to get through it the best I can, I try to stay strong."

Golixer also told Channel 11 Sanders had a bad heart and she thinks he may have had a heart attack, which lead to the accident.
