Cory Eberz joined the Millvale Volunteer Fire Department when he was 14 as a junior firefighter. Four years later, he complete fire academy training to become a full-fledged firefighter.
Now 19, he’s spent most of his teenage years serving Millvale. However, Millvale is now serving him.

Eberz was diagnosed with colon cancer in August, according to WPXI news partner TribLive.
On Sunday, the fire department hosted a spaghetti dinner and raffle to help Eberz and his mother offset medical expenses related to treatment.
