North Versailles Police still searching for missing man last seen 14 years ago

NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. — North Versailles police are still looking for anyone to come forward with information about a man not seen for 14 years.

Police said Donald Smatlak was last heard from Jan. 28, 2006 when he talked with his family over the phone at his home in the 1000 block of Logan Road in North Versailles. He said he was going to Delmont, but never arrived. Smatlak was supposed to eat dinner with his parents the next day.

Investigators said his silver four-door Mazda 3 was found abandoned at Meyran and Louisa streets in Oakland nearly two weeks later, Feb. 9.

Smatlak was 25 at the time he went missing. He had brown hair, hazel eyes and was about 6 feet tall. He had pierced ears and a small gap between his front teeth along with a scar on the lower left side of his lip. Police said he had a Chinese symbol tattooed in the center of his back and on his right shin. He also had a tattoo of his name in Chinese on the center of his chest.
