NWS: 3 tornadoes touched down in Westmoreland Co. during Tuesday's storms

ARMBRUST, Pa. — UPDATE 6:15 p.m. Oct. 4 - A third tornado has been confirmed from this storm. According to the NWS it was an EF0 and touched down along Brinker Road, crossing rt 819 near Gold Leaf Lane and ending along Hecla-Armbrust road just east of Rt 819.

UPDATE 2:32 p.m. Oct. 4 - The National Weather Service confirms two tornadoes touched down during severe storms in Westmoreland County on Tuesday afternoon.

One tornado caused damage in the Armbrust area of the county. Another touched down three miles west of Stahlstown.

They are the 41st and 42nd tornadoes to hit Westmoreland County since 1881, which leads the state of Pennsylvania.

“Nothing like this, I’ve never seen anything like this," Cory Haubrich said. "It’s out of a nightmare or a movie.”

A tree fell on top of a van and there are more than a dozen trees down along Route 819 where he and his family live.

“The first thing I noticed was the big tree down on the coop, and then I couldn’t see the swing set anymore," he said. "I seen the power line ripped off.”

Channel 11 spoke to a few women who work at a salon in the area.

They said the storm moved through their town fast and left behind a mess.

"The salon we work at and a tornado came through. The power went off. We didn't know what to do. We just kinda screamed. We didn't know it was a tornado," Maddy Kromer said.
