PITTSBURGH — The man wanted in connection with the shooting death of a recent North Hills High School graduate outside of a Strip District restaurant has been arrested.
According to Pittsburgh Police, the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Howard Hawkins, a.k.a. Mark McClendon, in North Hollywood, California, on Wednesday.
Hawkins was wanted for killing 18-year-old Ahmir Tuli in the 2700 block of Penn Avenue on Feb. 21. Investigators said they were called shortly after 9 p.m. for a report of a man shot outside Preeti’s Pit. Tuli was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived at a hospital that night. Police said Hawkins got into an argument inside, was told to leave and then came back, shooting Tuli in the head outside the front door.
