FOX CHAPEL, Pa. — Fox Chapel Council voted Monday night to rename Squaw Run Road to Hemlock Hollow Road after a nine-month discussion over removing what some call a slur from the name.
Our partners at TribLive.com report the change will take effect May 1 for one of the borough’s most heavily traveled roads. Property owners impacted by the name change will be paid $250 by the borough, and there will be a help desk set up at Cooper-Siegel Community Library for anyone needing help with paperwork.

The council voted last fall to eliminate the word from two borough roads and a trail.
