Robots delivering food on Pitt’s campus

PITTSBURGH — Robots are now delivering food on the University of Pittsburgh’s campus in Oakland.

The robots had been in a test phase but, as of this week, Starship robot deliveries is fully operational with 30 bots in action.

“When they first started coming out, like the first week everyone was just taking videos of them and, like, people from other schools were, like, what is going on here?” Gianna Huston, a Pitt freshman, said. “It was more funny, but now it seems useful.”

Through the Starship app, students and staff can utilize the delivery service to select from a handful of campus eateries.
