Tired of it getting dark so early? More daylight is on the way!

PITTSBURGH — You can see it. You can almost feel it. The light at the end of winter’s proverbial tunnel is burning brighter and brighter every day.

Sunset is already 20 minutes later than just one month ago, as we approved the darkest days of winter just before Christmas.

Over the course of the next month, we’ll pick up nearly another 40 minutes of light at the end of the day. The sunset on Feb. 14 will be just before 6 p.m.

Two months from Thursday, we’ll hit the jackpot. With the help of daylight saving time moving the clocks forward an hour, the sunset won’t be until 7:26 p.m. That’s more than two hours later than Thursday in just two short months, and it won’t even officially be spring yet.

You’ll be able to enjoy the later sunsets for nearly eight months, as clocks won’t be turned back this year until Nov. 7.
