Woman found shot in head inside Pittsburgh home, police say

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police are investigating after a woman was found shot to death in East Liberty.

The deadly shooting happened around 11 a.m. Tuesday in the 5700 block of Rippey Street. When officers got to the scene, the victim was found inside a house with a gunshot wound to the head.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the woman as Makeida Thompson, 32, of Clairton.

The investigation is ongoing, and it is being treated as a homicide.

Police are now looking for Terrence Washington. A witness told investigators Washington claimed Thompson was keeping his child away from him.
