Coronavirus: Matthew McConaughey lifts Texas seniors’ spirits by hosting virtual bingo game

ROUND ROCK, Texas — Even social distancing can’t stop Matthew McConaughey from lifting fans’ spirits during the coronavirus pandemic.

According to KEYE-TV, the Academy Award winner hosted an assisted living center’s bingo game via video chat last weekend. The actor’s family joined in as he called the virtual game remotely for residents of the Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living in Round Rock, Texas, the facility said in Facebook post Monday.

“Ever play virtual bingo with #MatthewMcConaughey? You’d be a whole lot cooler if you did!” the post read. “The residents at The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living got to play virtual bingo with #MatthewMcConaughey and his family!”

The facility went on to thank McConaughey; his wife, Camila Alves; and his mother, Kay McConaughey, for hosting the game.

“Our residents had a great time playing, and they loved talking with Matthew about his family heritage and his favorite drink,” the post continued.
