The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that deputies were called Friday morning by a man who said he had been stabbed. When deputies arrived at the home, they found two people had been stabbed, and one of the victims told investigators that Christina Adams had stabbed them before leaving.

Deputies said that they found Adams nearby, and that while she initially denied doing anything, she later admitted that she had been angry after she had been asked to leave the home where she lived with the victims. Adams told detectives she used a large knife to attack the victims, stabbing them multiple times, deputies said.

Adams allegedly told detectives that, believing the victims were dead, she tried to destroy evidence, changed her clothes and then went shopping. It was on her way home from shopping that deputies found her, heading back toward the scene of the crime.

Adams claimed to be a sociopath and told detectives that she has undiagnosed dissociative identity disorder, WPEC reported.

“These senseless acts of violence are shocking to all of us. I’m very proud of my deputies and detectives that worked so quickly to not only provide aid to the victims but, also to capture such an evil person and ensure that our streets are safe,” Marion County Sheriff William Woods said in a statement.

Adams was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and tampering with evidence, and was ordered to be held in jail without bond.

Both victims are in critical condition, WPEC reported.
