Cala Tolerico, 27, of Carbondale, was arrested and charged with abuse of a care-dependent person, WOLF-TV reported.

According to the Archbald Police Department, Tolerico allegedly took the video at Valley View High School in Archbald while the student was using the bathroom facilities and shared it on Snapchat, a social media messaging app, WNEP-TV reported.

Tolerico was a paraprofessional at the high school and worked with students in the life skills classroom, according to the television station.

According to court records, Valley View administrators contacted authorities on Feb. 23 after two faculty members said they had seen the alleged video, WNEP reported.

The faculty members said the video showed the student sitting on the toilet with their pants down but showed no private areas.

Officials said that Tolerico allegedly admitted to taking the video but meant it only “as a joke,” WOLF reported. After providing a written statement to school administrators, Tolerico was sent home, according to the television station.

Administrators then called police, WNEP reported.

Tolerico is not currently listed as a staff member on Valley View’s district site, according to the television station.

A message left by WNEP to Valley View Superintendent Michael Boccella seeking comment has not been returned.

Tolerico was released from jail after posting $10,000 bail, WOLF reported.
