KINGMAN, Ariz. — Two teenage girls have been arrested for allegedly plotting a school shooting in Kingman, Arizona.
According to a news release from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday deputies received a report that multiple students were plotting a shooting at Kingman High School.
KNXV reported that deputies arrived at the school and began identifying and talking with the people who were reported to be involved.
MCSO said on Thursday, additional security was provided for the high school. During their investigation, MCSO identified a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl who were allegedly behind plotting the shooting.
MCSO said that both girls were immediately suspended pending the investigation, per KVVU.
Investigators learned that the two girls were going through relationship issues and had said that they were allegedly being bullied by other students, according to KVVU. Police said that the two girls allegedly also made a list of 14 students who they intended to shoot.
MCSO said that detectives arrested the two girls for the threat. Both have been charged with making a terrorist threat and were booked into the Mohave County Juvenile Detention Facility.
