The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of more than 1.2 million candles sold exclusively at Walmart because the glass containers can break, posing fire and laceration hazards.

The CPSC said the wicks of the Mainstays Three-Wick Candles are too close to the sides of the glass container and can cause them to break from the flame.

The candles were sold in 14-ounce glass jars with Halloween or autumn themes printed on them and a metal lid. They cost about $7.

They were sold under several names from September through November, including:

  • Jack-O-Lantern
  • Mystic Fog
  • Warm Apple Pie
  • Warm Fall Leaves
  • Fall Farm House
  • Pumpkin Spice
  • Magic Potion

The names of the candles are on the front of the jar.

People who have the candles are being told to stop using them and to contact the maker of the candles — Star Soap Star Candle Prayer Candle — for a full refund, according to the CPSC.

For more information, contact the maker at 800-680-2474 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday. You can also reach out to the company online.
