PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins and PPG will honor area teachers by welcoming 100 educators to their May 6 game against the Buffalo Sabres.
According to the Pittsburgh Penguins, PPG has pre-purchased 100 pairs of tickets that will be distributed during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3-7, to the winners of the Salute to Teachers contest. The tickets are a thank you to teachers and administrators for their commitment to education during the pandemic. Teachers adapted and sacrificed for months to make sure that learning did not pause during the pandemic. Their continued efforts for effective remote learning and adjustments to in-person instruction deserve to be recognized.
“We are pleased to help thank and recognize teachers in our community,” said Bryan Iams, vice president, corporate and government affairs, PPG. “We are thankful and appreciative for their hard work and many sacrifices during these challenging times.”
Teachers may enter to win a ticket for themselves and a guest by registering HERE. The contest begins today and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 2. Those entering will be asked to submit their school district, school name and title in order to participate in the contest. One hundred winners will be notified on Tuesday, May 4.
“Thanks to PPG’s continued generosity and support, we are proud to welcome teachers to a game at PPG Paints Arena,” said president and CEO David Morehouse. “The Penguins are grateful to all the teachers that continue to go above and beyond to ensure the betterment of students during these challenging times.”
