Despite a fast start, the Pitt Panthers hadn’t devoured things down to the bone by halftime on Saturday. With an entire half remaining his team’s 59-14 season-opening win over visiting Miami (Ohio), Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi demanded more.
“Put your foot on their throat,” Narduzzi said when asked by the television broadcast what his message to his team would be at the midway point. “We’ve got 30 more minutes to go, and that clock is still rolling. We’ve gotta go out and play a great second half.”
Message received, loud and clear.
