For the first time in nearly a month, the Pirates secured a series win after defeating the Red Sox 8-3 in Sunday’s rubber match at PNC Park.

Bottom 1st, 2-0 PIT: The Pirates (61-65) manufactured a pair of runs on three consecutive pitches from Patrick Sandoval (1-2). Esmerlyn Valdez and Bryan Reynolds hit back-to-back doubles and Brandon Lowe plated the latter with a single to left.
