PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates announced Wednesday afternoon infielder Kevin Kramer underwent right hip surgery last week.
According to a statement from the team, the procedure was a labral repair to address recent and chronic symptoms that prohibited Kramer from continuing his training in preparation for the 2020 season.
In 22 games with the Pirates last season, the infielder had seven hits, five runs and five RBI. He is expected to be out four to six months.
