Steelers celebrate JuJu Smith-Schuster’s birthday in unique fashion

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster turned 24 years old on Sunday, and even though his stat sheet didn’t jump off the page, his teammates helped celebrate the occasion.

After rookie Chase Claypool caught a touchdown from Ben Roethlisberger in the first half to give the Steelers the lead, he gathered some of the offense in the endzone to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Smith-Schuster -- pretending the football was a birthday cake.

The birthday boy delightedly “blew out” the candles after their song was finished, and the celebration ensued.

Smith-Schuster left the game early with a minor foot injury after appearing to step on the official’s flag in the fourth quarter, but coach Mike Tomlin said he would have been available had the game not been out of reach.
